The Cygnus Region

The Constellation Cygnus fills the field. The North American Nebula can be seen in the center left, just below Deneb. Star colors are vivid. The double star Albeiro (toward the right) can almost be resolved. There are no star trails, showing that the tracking was perfect. It was a 45 minute exposure on ASA 64 Kodachrome. Taken with my homebuilt scope.

(Poem Below)

Alone?

A million little sparkles

Of silver stellar light

Breath down to me their history

Mythology of Night

Orion is the hunter

There's one called hercules

And seven sisters, very bright

They're called the pleiades

The Twins have constant vigil,

Their name is Gemini

Leo's quite a lion

And Pegasus can fly

There are bears and swan and bull and ram

And fox and whale and dove

A queen sits proud upon her throne

While chariot streaks above

Some people think Astronomers,

Stand one beneath the dome,

But those of us that know the sky,

Can never feel alone.
